YMCA Swim:
Dwell kids have really enjoyed YMCA Swim Camp thus far! This summer the kids have been led by certified instructors on water safety and beneficial techniques of cultivating and improving swimming skills. We are so thankful for this opportunity to learn a lifesaving skill while enjoying fun in the sun.
Soccer Camp:
This summer we were able to offer a range of seasonal fun summer camps. Soccer Camp has been one of our favorites thus far. This summer it has been led by a professional soccer player, Mr. Evans Ikpoeha! He offered a kids camp for all skill levels. Thank you so much Mr. Evans!
Ice Cream Socials
Ice Cream Socials are a hit among the Dwell residents. One Sunday afternoon we gathered at the Pavilion and enjoyed the ice cream bar, games, music, and socializing with the residents as well as Dwell staff! We had a wonderful toppings bar set up and encouraged all residents to get as many toppings as possible. What a great way to celebrate these hot summer days.
Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course
This event was created to help cultivate a healthier start to our resident's mornings. This competitive and energetic obstacle course consisted of 7 stations which included push ups, kettle bells, weighted jump ropes, tire toss, and more! We even had an obstacle course inflatable for all ages. Many families participated in this early morning workout and we look forward to leading more obstacle courses in the future!
Fall Festival
Fall Festival was a wonderful way to celebrate the beginning of Fall and the upcoming holidays with our fellow residents. We enjoyed a petting zoo, DJ, pumpkin painting, face painting, games, prizes, and more! We ended the evening with a dancing contest and chose a winner for pumpkin painting!
Homework Help
Homework Help is thriving at The View and our students have been improving their reading skills. Every day after school the kids are assisted with homework. Afterwards, everyone reads at least 2 books to practice and improve their reading skills.
Friendsgiving
Friendsgiving is a blend of friends and Thanksgiving, and it refers to a large meal eaten with friends either on or near Thanksgiving. Every person in attendance held hands and said one thing they were grateful for. Our annual Friendsgiving was a beautiful experience and we were excited to see everyone with their families!
Truth Seekers Book Club
Once a month a handful of Dwell residents gather together to select an insightful book to read. After each book we discuss key point and how the content has impacted our personal life. This month we are reading 'In The Country We Love' and we look forward to diving deeper into pertinent information regarding the country we love.
