YMCA Swim Camp

YMCA Swim camp was a huge success this year! We love partnering with our local YMCA to offer 2 weeks of free swim classes to residents ages 3-12! YMCA instructors assess the kids’ level of swimming ability and then offer fun games, lessons, and hands on practice swimming in our complex pool! We had 30 kids show up this year! This program is a great opportunity to connect our residents with local partners in the community and to offer free activities for kids during the summer!

Block Party

This was Dwell @ 750’s first ever Block Party! We had an amazing time getting everyone from the community outside and building community. We partnered with a local rap group called CityTakers who provided some amazing entertainment through freestyle rap and awesome music! We made over 200 hamburgers for neighbors from the community and had a huge number of attendees for this event! We also raffled off a 32 inch flat screen TV for one resident from the community. This event sums up exactly what we want to do in our community: bring people together. Burgers, music, and a hot day in the sun is all you need to create community!

Create A Restaurant Camp

Create a restaurant camp was one for the books! We want to teach our kids here at Dwell @ 750 all about the real world. So, for one week we learned what it was like to open, run, work and eat at a restaurant. We made our own aprons and practiced being chefs by making homemade pizza! We had a couple of local restaurant owners from Marietta answer kids' questions about owning and running a restaurant. We even served over 15 fake customers as we set up our Dwell pizza restaurant. The kids practiced serving, taking orders, and making food for customers. And of course, we ate a lot of pizza. This camp was a great opportunity for kids to engage in real world problem solving, practice customer service, and to dream about their future careers.

See Ya Later Summer Party!

We had an amazing time celebrating the end of the summer as a community. We ate popsicles and chips and threw over 1000 water balloons! This was a great time for us to celebrate the summer and look forward to all that the new school year will bring for the kids of our community! Many of them are anxious to start the new year some for the first time and some for their last year as a senior!

Summer Reading Program!

This summer we encouraged kids of all ages to participate in our Dwell Summer Reading Program! Kids were encouraged to attend our reading program weekly and pick out a new book! They were also encouraged to fill out as many reading logs which would get them a prize. For elementary aged students, for every 4 reading logs they would receive a slime. For middle schoolers the student who turned in the most reading logs would receive 2 tickets to Sparkles a local skating rink, and for high schoolers, a ticket to Six Flags. We are so excited in the participation from the neighborhood to READ MORE!

Thank You!

A huge thanks to all of our summer partnerships that helped bring some amazing programs to our property! Thank you to YMCA for providing swim classes and FREE lunch every weekday this summer! Thank you to Kennesaw Mountain Park Rangers for bringing crafts and cool lessons to our kids this summer!

JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP

This was our first ever Job Search Workshop. Our goal of this event was to provide free resources and information regarding employment. The workshop taught residents how to apply online, basics of a resume, interview skills, and overview of the job search process. We hope to have more of these types of workshops in the future for residents.

DWELL FUN RUN + WALK

This was our first ever Dwell Fun Run + Walk. The goal of this event was to educate residents on health and wellness encouraging participation and making it fun! We also hoped to provide residents with resources regarding their help. We had 6 health booths attend: Good Samaritan Health Clinic, Go Forth Yoga, Free Blood Pressure Checks, Ear/Nose/Throat checks, a healthy recipe station and Lion's Club provided free vision screenings. Residents were able to attend each health booth and learn more about their health and take steps to becoming healthier. The Fun Run + Walk encouraged residents to take action with their own health. The short mile run had people cheering them on the whole time with pom poms and music and water! The first place winner won 2 free Atlanta United Tickets! And other winners won gift cards! Each participant, whether they walked or ran, received a free tshirt and swag bag with fun prizes inside! We really believe this event made an impact in our community and can't wait to do it even bigger in the spring!

(i have TONS of pics to choose from for this event:)

Fall Festival

If you were to ask any child that is a resident what their favorite event here at Dwell is, you'd get a resounding "Fall Fest!" Fall Fest is our biggest event and a great opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the upcoming holidays. We have a bounce house, petting zoo, hay ride, chick-fil-a, and tons of stations with prizes and games. The kids love painting pumpkins and getting their faces painted as well. Dwell @ 750 had over 160 people in attendance! This event truly brings the community together as Uplift provides a safe, fun, and free weekend event for families to enjoy!

Cafe Conexion:

This is a new program for 750! Cafe Conexion is a time for Spanish speaking moms and women to gather and talk about life, drink coffee together, and practice speaking English!
